The Rotary Club of Mitchelton is one of the many clubs in Rotary District 9600. Our club has been active since 1967 and is centred on the areas of Mitchelton, Keperra, Arana Hills and Everton Park in Brisbane.
Our club is actively involved in a wide range of programs that support the youth, the elderly and Community groups within the local Area. We are also actively involved in a range of international programs, most of which are focused on the Pacific Islands and Kenya.
Each December Mitchelton Rotary holds a Xmas lunch for the elderly within the community.
This is put on at no cost to the individual and is aimed at those who will spend Xmas alone and without family.
On Australia Day each year we hold a Citizenship Ceremony for our newest Australians.
This is a special day for those who have made the decision to leave their place of origin and become Australian Citizens.
Our Club is made up of people from all parts of the community who are active members assisting in all areas of Rotary Service.
The Rotary club of Mitchelton is open to membership to anyone who is interested in helping the community and we encourage both male and female membership. Our club is family friendly and offers special family memberships and alternatives for those that wish to be a part of Rotary, but may have time issues or commitments.
Like most community organisations we rely on fund raising and every dollar collected is put back into various worthy projects.
Quite a number of youth and Community groups have benefited from fund raising efforts by Mitchelton Rotarians.
As a club we like to assocaite where possible socially and to this end we get together for club functions, BBQ’s, or other gatherings.
