Community Service is one of the key areas of Rotary service.
Mitchelton Rotary Club undertakes a range of projects in support of the local community.
Australia Day Ceremony – On Australia Day each year we conduct a naturalization ceremony is held for about 40 new Australian citizens at the Arana Leagues Club.
Seniors Christmas Luncheon – Each December a Christmas luncheon is provided to around 100 seniors from the local community who have limited opportunities to celebrate Christmas with friends and family.
Charity Golf Day – In mid year a charity golf day is held at the Keperra Golf Club with the proceeds going to support local youth and other community programs.
Bowelscan Project – In conjunction with other local Rotary Clubs we are undertaking a Bowelscan Proscreening project which provides the community with a cheap screening process for the early detection of bowel cancer and related medical conditions. More information is available at Bowel Scan.
Community Service Awards – Mitchelton Rotary Club undertakes a Community Service Awards program to deserving members within the local community.
Emergency Medical Information Booklets – Emergency Medical Information Booklets are produced in co-operation with the Queensland Ambulance Service.
They enable individuals to record their personal details, medical history and medications.
The booklets assist Emergency Services personnel in the event of an emergency.
The location of the booklet is usually in a magnetic wallet attached to the refrigerator door.
