Rotary Peace Fellow Presentation Success
Mitchelton Rotary Club President Ian Cameron thanking Peace Fellow Claire Mazionnier for her presentation

Peace Fellow Claire Mazionnier gave an excellent presentation at Arana Leagues Club on Tuesday 27th May 2025.
The event was hosted by Mitchelton Rotary Club, with approximately 40 Rotarians and Rotary guests attending, with the majority staying for dinner after the presentation.
Claire outlined her studies at the University of Queensland, NGO work in Peru and her Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Uppsala in Sweden on a Rotary scholarship. Claire also completed a United Nations internship in New York as part of her Peace and Conflict studies.
In 2017 Claire joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and in 2018, Claire was posted to the Australian High Commission in Ghana, representing Australia as Second Secretary for a three-year tour. In this role she was responsible for a wide variety of duties, from management of the Australian Aid program, to reporting on political developments in countries of accreditation.
She provided consular assistance to help Australians return home during the COVID-19 Pandemic and has been deployed as part of DFAT's Crisis Response Team. She is currently working in the trade area of DFAT, working remotely from Brisbane while raising a young family.
Claire noted that without her Rotary scholarship, she may not have had the interesting and rewarding career with DFAT that she is enjoying. After the event, Claire was able to thank David Frost the current President of Paddington Rotary Club for the Club sponsoring her Peace Fellow scholarship application.
