The Rotary Club of Mitchelton is a part of newly merged Rotary District 9620. There are 125 clubs in the district.  The Rotary Club of Mitchelton was formed in 1967 to service the larger Mitchelton area, celebrating 50 years in 2017. Our club embraces diversity and has a good mix of women and men members of which both are flexible and committed to not just making change for the better of others but to be part of an active social network that enjoys each other company and open-mindedness.

Mitchelton Rotary Club seek to serve the community and endeavour to participate in any national and international projects striving to live to the ideals of service above self, which resonates with this year’s motto of ‘serve to change lives.
As a club we pursue hands on projects often in collaboration with local community organisations such as Picabeen, North West Youth Accommodation and Zephyr to support the most vulnerable in the community and is a reflection of the Rotary values of
.           Building lifelong relationships.
.           Honouring our commitments.
.           Connection with diverse perspectives; and
.           Applying our leadership and expertise to solve social issues.
Internationally we continue our drive to eradicate Polio from the world, with only two reported cases currently active in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Our clubs ongoing commitment to raise funds for the Umoja Orphanage in Kenya has established new homes for children to live their life free from the devasting effects of displacement. In recent years we have committed our club to providing clean water and improved sanitation to rural villages in Papua New Guinea through the installation of gravity fed pipe systems and training of local villagers to manage the system independently.
The Rotary club of Mitchelton is open to membership to anyone who would like to give back to our community in some way. That can be as little as a couple of hours a month or as a volunteer or ‘Friend of Rotary’ which play a vital part in assisting us to achieve our goals, being part of a Rotary Club is also a great way to meet like-minded people, form long lasting friendships and share in regular social events.
