ROTARY SAYS "NO"TO DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE AND
"YES" TO RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS.
Mitchelton Rotary Club together with Caboolture Rotary Club are pursuing ways to assist our community in saying "NO" to domestic and family violence.
We have been directed towards a group called NAPCAN (National Association for prevention of child abuse and neglect) who deliver a programme called "Love Bites", an educational programme for young people aged 11 to 17 years. NAPCAN trains facilitators to mentor High School students using methods of building respectful relationships.
With community financial support our Rotary Clubs have enabled NAPCAN to hold a two day seminar on 28/29th October at Arana Leagues Club, with 30 participants.
The trained facilitators will present the programme in many local High Schools over the Moreton Bay, Brisbane and Logan City Councils in the New Year.
By providing grass roots training we hope to reduce the impact of domestic and family violence on future generations.
